What was it that turned the world upside down in the 1st century? How did the first disciples of Jesus live such profound lives that would permanently change history? The answer to these questions is that they were genuine disciples of Jesus. They understood what it was to be a dedicated learner of their Master – a disciple – and the result changed them from ordinary people to extraordinary people who were filled with the presence of God in their life, spreading God's Word wherever they went.

That's what Making Disciples is all about. It's about being a dedicated learner of Jesus Christ. These studies will challenge you and stretch you; they will equip and empower you to live a life full of meaning, purpose and glorious victory. Yes, the same humble carpenter from Nazareth that taught a bunch of simple fishermen to be His disciples, He will also teach you. They conquered the mighty Roman Empire through the power of love. And we too can bring the gospel of peace to our communities through the power of His love.

Making Disciples © is a three-workbook series developed by Pastor Larry DiSimone. This program is an excellent tool designed to give a well-rounded understanding of the Scriptures and Christian doctrine, through participating in and subsequently leading in a small group.

Objective

The objective of these classes is to bring you into full maturity as a Christian. The goal is to give you the opportunity to be discipled so that you can begin to disciple others. Once you have gone through this material and have learned it yourself, you will be given the opportunity to teach others what you have learned. In so doing, you will be trained to serve God, and will be equipped to win others to the Lord, disciple them, and then send them on to disciple others. As Paul the apostle said, the question is, are you ready to answer the call to Make Disciples?

"Teach these great truths to trustworthy people who are able to pass them on th others." 2 Timothy 2:2

Making Disciples is used by several different churches in several states, and has helped hundreds of people gain a deeper understanding of the faith. It greatly edifies those who have been walking with the Lord for some time, while offering the new believer invaluable, fundamental insight into Biblical doctrine. By having the curriculum presented in small groups, individuals are learning the material while being trained to disciple others in the process. They become not only disciples, but disciplers, following the Lord's command to

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…" Matthew 28:19-20

The format is clean and simple. Each session contains textual information concerning the topic, questions followed by Biblical references as the only source for answers, spaces to write answers directly in the books. There are quotes by well-known Christian authors and teachers, thought-provoking and action-taking words by Pastor Larry in the unique "Take it to the Lord" sections, and Bible verses throughout. The curriculum is instructional as well as academic, informational, and inspirational.

It comes in a three-part series entitled, "Equipping', 'Building'", and "Maturing", and is taken from the working text of Making Disciples found in Eph 4:12-13
